ABOUT MEN CRY 2

Men Cry 2 is a nonprofit organization committed to transforming the narrative around men’s mental and emotional health. Our mission is to provide men with the tools, support, and safe spaces they need to heal, grow, and thrive. We believe that vulnerability is strength, and that emotional honesty is not a weakness but a pathway to wholeness.

Through our comprehensive programs and services, we offer individual and group therapy sessions, healing circles, workshops, educational seminars, and peer-to-peer support groups that encourage open dialogue and emotional expression. Our organization also connects participants with trusted mental health professionals and community partners for specialized care, ensuring that every man has access to the support he deserves. In moments of crisis, our intervention services are designed to respond with empathy, confidentiality, and immediate assistance.

Beyond direct services, Men Cry 2 is building a movement. We are dedicated to raising awareness about the unique mental health challenges men face, dismantling long-held stigmas that discourage men from seeking help, and creating opportunities for education, advocacy, and cultural change. We aim to collaborate with other community organizations, faith leaders, mental health advocates, and local agencies to host events, forums, and campaigns that highlight the importance of emotional wellness, healthy relationships, and holistic healing.

Ultimately, Men Cry 2 envisions a world where men feel free to express their emotions, access the resources they need, and cultivate authentic connections without judgment. Our work is rooted in compassion, accountability, and community — because healing, when shared, becomes strength.

about the founder

Lamarre Rouse, the founder and Executive Director of Men Cry 2, is a passionate advocate for mental health awareness and emotional well-being, renowned for his work as the Founder and Executive Director of Men Cry 2, an organization dedicated to breaking the stigma surrounding men's mental health. With a commitment to empowering men to express their emotions and seek support, Lamarre has become a leading voice in the movement for mental health advocacy.

Born in Boston, MA and primarily raised in Berkeley, CA, Lamarre's journey into mental health advocacy began after he personally experienced the struggles of navigating societal expectations of masculinity. Driven by his own challenges and a desire to make a difference, he established Men Cry 2 to create a safe space for men to share their experiences and support one another.

Under Lamarre's leadership, Men Cry 2 has launched several initiatives, including workshops, outreach programs, and community events aimed at fostering open dialogue about mental health issues. His focus on promoting vulnerability as a strength has resonated with countless individuals, helping to transform the narrative around men's emotional health.

Lamarre's dedication to mental well-being has not gone unnoticed; he has received recognition for his commitment to the cause. Through Men Cry 2 and his ongoing advocacy efforts, Lamarre Rouse is changing lives and challenging the notion that it's not okay for men to cry.

Lamarre is a firm believer in the importance of self-care and community support. He continues to inspire others to embrace their emotions and pursue healing, one conversation at a time.

Men do Cry 2

They told you to man up, before they ever told you to heal,
Taught you to swing, to run, to work, to deal,
But not how to feel,
Not how to exhale without being ashamed of the sound it makes,
Not how to grieve without turning it into anger,
Not how to love without feeling like it might cost you your power.

From birth, they crowned you protector,
Provider, soldier, savior,
But never said, “It’s okay to be human, too”
So you learned to smile through storms,
To bleed behind closed doors,
To pray with your chest, and ache with your silence

But brother,
This is your permission slip,
To lay your armor down,
To take that mask off,
To cry, not because you’re weak,
But because you’ve been strong for far too long

Here, in this space, there is no judgment,
No shame,
No scorecard for emotions,
Just men unlearning what pain taught them,
Rediscovering what peace feels like

You are not alone in your struggle,
Not the only one who’s ever felt forgotten,
Misunderstood, or expected to fix everything but yourself
You’ve been holding up the world on your shoulders,
But who’s been holding you?

Men Cry 2 is the sound of release,
The sound of brothers exhaling after years of holding it in,
It’s therapy, fellowship, and freedom intertwined,
It’s the safe space you never had,
Built by men who’ve walked through the same fire,
And learned that tears don’t drown you, they water your growth

Cry if you must,
Heal as you should,
Laugh until it feels like church,
Pray until the noise quiets down inside,
Because your tears are holy,
They baptize your pain, and make room for joy to bloom again.

To the man who’s lost his father,
May you grieve without guilt
To the man who’s raising sons,
May you show them that love and leadership can coexist.
To the man who’s been broken by life,
May you learn that vulnerability is not surrender,
It’s resurrection

This is brotherhood beyond bravado,
This is healing wrapped in humanity,
This is the altar where masculinity meets mercy.

So cry, King,
Cry and remember that you’re still divine,
Cry until the burden feels lighter,
Until the silence feels like peace,
Until you can finally look at yourself and say,

I am worthy, I am healing, I am free,

Because real men cry too,
And when they do,
The world changes
